Roses In The Pollinator Garden
  • Pollinator insects love roses!
  • Roses with open blooms that show the stamens are better than roses with many petals that hide the stamens.  If you can’t see the stamens, the bees can’t either!
  • Most roses bloom from May through October so they are available when other pollinator plants are not blooming.
  • The rose in this video is American Pillar. (1902)  It only blooms once in the spring but it puts on a big show and provides early summer food for pollinators.
  • Avoid pesticides to protect the pollinators
