The Kansas City Rose Society is proud to sponsor three children’s programs available to students within the Kansas City region.Garden groomers and members of the Rose Society administer the programs which include presentations and guiding students through the garden.
Program 1 – Garden Tour & Identification …for younger children
Includes a very general walk through the garden in answering questions and identifying types of roses and other garden features. At the end of the program a playground is available for children to play and enjoy their snacks or sack lunch.
Program 2 – Detailed Garden Tour & Identification + Art & Photography
This more detailed tour focuses on questions by participants and answers related to roses and garden features. Other activities include drawing and or photographing roses.
Program 3 – Detailed Garden Tour & Identification + Horticulture & Science
This advanced tour focuses on questions by participants and answers related to roses and garden features. Horticulture and other science associated with roses and living things in the garden will be approached. Gardening demonstrations, discussion of hybrid roses, the effects of bugs and diseases in the garden will be included as will methods used to maintain the roses and the garden environment.
